The Utah Procurement Code provides that a procurement may be made without competition when the University determines that there is only one source that can reasonably meet the University’s need for the required supply or service, as described in Utah Code Ann. § 63G-6a-802.
The Purchasing Department has received the following request for sole source procurement
Current date: 20250115
Product and/or Service to be purchased: Credentialing Software
Sole Source Supplier: CredentialStream
Earliest Proposed Purchase Date: January 15, 2025
Buyer Name: Katherine Coons
Sole Source Justification:
University of Utah Health uses CredentialStream's cloud-based software that performs both credentialing and enrollment functions for our Medical Staff Office and Provider Relations. The software houses accrediting required primary source documentation, contractual forms for billing insurers, and provides automation of monthly red flag reviews. At this time, it would be too cost prohibitive to move to a new credentialing software. We anticipate it would cost UUH an estimated $730K to transition. This dollar amount is made up of conversion costs, training costs and comparable software costs.
This sole source will be valid until 02/01/2027.
